TOAST SHORT FILM

■ TOAST is an experimental short film about an abandoned robot named Mig who wakes up every day in an empty house searching for meaning and connection. On this particular day, she tries something different. The film is an exploration of the gender and racial disparity in the tech industry, and the disconnect between the designers of AI and its consumers. The character of Mig is specifically inspired by the real-life robot BINA48, and grapples with this question: what happens when the people creating the tech are completely removed from those using it, particularly in terms of identity, gender and social standing?
